When you register for the Team, you'll get access to Active.com's online training program. But if you don't want to deal with the online stuff, here are some good links for those who just want to print out a training schedule once and not have to go back to the Interweb:
http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/index.htm -- I've used Hal Higdon's training schedules religiously since I've started running, er, jogging. There are schedules for novice, intermediate, advanced, and walkers for the half-marathon.
Even if you are walking, I would highly suggest to do some kind of training. It may seem do-able at first (of course, I can walk 13 miles!)... but you'll probably end up really sore for the next week. Boo. Training will help get your body ready for the big race. :)
Keeping the race date in mind, you could still start the training on week 2 and be able to complete it in time for October 5th.
Good luck! :)

Mission Peak hike Thursday!
We'll meet at the East end of Stanford Avenue, off Mission Blvd., around 6:45 PM. See http://www.ci.fremont.ca.us/Recreation/MissionPeak/default.htm for details. The hike WILL NOT take five hours, trust me! Please bring some water, stay hydrated through the day, and you may want to bring a warm layer for later on.
